An operator’s view of technology.
Josh brings more than 20 years of experience across technology, retail, distribution, and hospitality. His career includes consulting at Deloitte, technology leadership at Millbrook and UNFI, and serving as CIO of Natural Markets Food Group. He was also part of the founding team at Innit, where he served as chief operating officer.
That experience shapes his work at Lasso: start with the business problem, understand how people actually work, and connect technology decisions to operating results. He is also founder and CEO of xlogix, the separate company behind Fabrick.
Josh holds a BBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. His background and entrepreneurship work are documented in the sources below.
Three questions shaping the work.
Topics for business leaders, interviews, and working sessions.
Where is AI worth the money?
Look beyond the demo and the software subscription. The business case needs to include integration, review, maintenance, and the cost of mistakes. Compare those costs with the value of the work being improved.
What should people own?
Define the decisions that need judgment, the tasks AI can support, and the points where a person reviews the work. Accountability, handoffs, and a way to catch errors belong in the design from the beginning.
How does it become part of the work?
Start with a real workflow: responding to an inquiry, preparing an estimate, or assembling a report. Connect AI to the information and tools the team uses, give someone ownership, and measure whether the work improves.
The Operator’s AI Test
Five questions to ask before investing in an AI project: the result, the work, ownership, exceptions, and economics. Use this one-page guide to make the business case more concrete.
AI without the bullshit.
At Lasso, we combine operating experience and technical capability to address difficult business problems. AI expands what we can build and test, and how directly we can put that experience to work. We keep the approach practical, communicate plainly, and focus on getting useful work done.
Success includes the result the business needs, evidence of value, and the ability to keep the solution working. Implementation, employee communication, training, adoption, and clear responsibility belong in the work from the beginning.
